    The way commercial fishers handle bycatch has a significant impact on the survival of the animal.

    AFMA has released a Best Practice Bycatch Handling education video showcasing Commonwealth operators using best practice bycatch handling techniques. The video highlights the six bycatch handling and treatment principles released in 2016.

    Fishers should watch the video and familiarise themselves with the correct procedures to minimise the risk of breaching their obligations.
