The Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Island fisheries are an Australian territory located south-west of the Indonesian archipelago. Since November 2002, day-to-day management of the fishery within 12 nm is through the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
Fishing for tuna and tuna-like species in waters outside 12 nm of the Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands fisheries is to be managed under the Western Tuna and Billfish Fishery Management Plan 2005.
