Commission meeting

The 2021 tiger prawn season officially opens on 1 August 2021 in the Northern Prawn Fishery (NPF).

The Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) is seeking applications for the following vacant positions:

• Economics Member on the Great Australian Bight Resource Assessment Group (GABRAG); and
• Research (Economics) Member on the Great Australian Bight Management Advisory Committee (GABMAC).

The Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) is reminding operators with e-monitoring systems installed on their vessel of their requirement to return their hard drives to AFMA.

Coinciding with the United Nations’ International Day for the Fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing, illegal foreign fishing vessels in Australia’s northern waters have been targeted in a two-week operation.
